Day Four

This morning we took the tube to the Royal College of Art to take a tour. On the way we passed by a group of mounted guards in training.

When we arrived at The Royal College of Art we met our tour guide and proceeded to receive a presentation on student work and got to see the students' studio space.  Each student gets their own space which encourages interaction between the different concentrations.

After the Royal College we went to the Victoria and Albert museum where we looked around for a while. We left and went to get something to eat at a place called Cafe Rouge. Every time we crossed the street we ended up sprinting. That area of London was startlingly white, and the sun reflecting off of the white buildings, road, and sunny sky only heightened the experience. All of the buildings were Victorian style and very old. It felt like we were walking to a court date in heaven, where ice cream and hotdogs were available on the way.

Our third stop was to the Natural History Museum where we saw everything from the composition of the earth to prehistoric animals, and of course, the gift shop where Jake made a squirrel friend.  There was also a lot of interesting typography in the Natural History Museum. Such as this example:

and this one.

After the museum we went to Hyde park. There weren't many gardens because it is so early in the spring, but we saw a lot of green birds. We saw a lot of dogs that weren't on leashes, and a lot of babies that were. We also spotted a really cute little old man, that Jake wanted to carry under his arm like a surfboard.

Oh, can't forget Jake's friend.

This post was a nice end to the day. The internet was so slow that Cassie turned into a piece of bubblegum stuck to the table. We contemplated learning heiroglyphics and carving our post into the Rosetta Stone, but we wouldn't have been able to capture Jake's essence as well as this picture does.

It was a great day, and London has been amazing.
Over and out.
